This is our story:

In November of 2007, Sarah and Jon met at college and started writing songs together.  Jake joined them soon after to flesh out the then-duo's sound with his multi-instrumental prowess.  In the spring of 2008, they recorded an 8-track self-titled EP of original songs.  As the songwriting and arrangements evolved and developed, Pete joined the band and began writing wonderous lead guitar lines. They then recorded a double EP titled Living & Dwelling (available in the site store) at local college recording studios and their own basement studio.  They played shows with varying lineups around the Chicago area and booked a DIY tour through Nebraska and Iowa to promote Living & Dwelling.  After graduating college, the core members of the band moved to Missoula, Montana to start the next chapter of their lives and continue to write, record and perform songs as Mendelssohn.
